The ultimate solution to supply your front end equipment with clean power

Finally, after thousands of hours of research and development, the POWER STATION is available! What it all started, was our wish to improve the performance of our reference; POWER SOURCE. Of all three problems, the POWER SOURCE can solve two of them perfectly, it can filter DC-voltages as well as high frequency distortion from your mains. However, the third problem, distortion of the sine wave itself, cannot be solved using a passive circuit. No line conditioner or isolation transformer can do that. The mains is loaded at its peaks only, causing heavy distortion of the sine wave. This load on the mains causes the peaks of the sine wave to flatten, causing the sine wave to be permanently distorted.

The only solution to this problem is generating a completely new sine wave using a so-called regenerator. That is exactly what the POWER STATION is and does. This means that it first converts the mains voltage into a DC voltage and then uses this DC to generate a new voltage. The advantage of this is that the output voltage is a pure sine wave, which is virtually independent of mains interference!

Unlike the often monstrously large and heavy devices you typically find on the market, our POWER STATION is of a completely different caliber—small, that is!
Front-end sources (everything placed before the power amplifiers) are the most sensitive to mains interference. Our philosophy is based on the premise that every front end should have its own POWER STATION, hence the modest power output of a maximum of 75 W.
This is almost always sufficient. The power we specify is the output power, not the input power as other manufacturers do. In this way, mutual interference between the audio sources is completely ruled out. In this way, a digital device can never send interference back via the mains connection to a sensitive analog device (think of an MC or MD phono preamplifier!). This would be possible, however, if you were to connect all these devices to a single (more powerful) regenerator…
The size of the POWER STATION is such that three units can stand side by side, together forming the standard audio width of 40 to 44 cm.
After extensive experiments and listening sessions, we have arrived at some impressive specifications; for instance, both the frequency and the Crest Factor are adjustable.
The higher the frequency, the better the detail becomes, and a general refinement occurs in all audiophile characteristics. This is because the transformer and power supply of the connected device start operating more efficiently. The Crest Factor regulates the energy increase at the output by adding the third harmonic. This increases the area of ​​the sine wave. If the Crest Factor is set to maximum, the power supply of the connected device receives 13% more energy! After these listening sessions, it became clear that approximately 90 Hz was our preference, and that about 10% of third harmonics (Crest Factor) had to be added to the sine wave. By increasing the Crest Factor, you experience a more powerful, warmer (tube-like) sound.
Unlike competing designs, the generation of the sine wave is entirely analog. A very well-thought-out circuit based on a Wien bridge oscillator guarantees a particularly low-distortion sine wave, without the artefacts of digital synthesis.
A unique feature of the POWER STATION is that, unlike all other manufacturers, we do not use an output transformer because it always ruins the excellent characteristics of the regenerators! The problem with output transformers is that when the load approaches the maximum power, the output voltage starts to distort significantly. Consequently, not only are the dynamics limited, but distortion also occurs! The POWER STATION is also equipped with a DC offset corrector, which keeps the DC output voltage precisely at 0 Volts. As a result, you will not hear any hum from the device connected to the POWER STATION, unless the transformer in the connected device is already humming on its own. The transformer can also perform its work much better without DC voltage; it effortlessly delivers larger peak currents without distortion and generates much less heat.
The voltage coming out of the POWER STATION is balanced; in other words, both poles are “hot.” There is 115 V at both socket terminals, in opposite phase. Consequently, the net effect is 2 x 115 V, i.e., 230 V. Even if the mains voltage drops to 200 V, the output voltage of the POWER STATION remains 230 V.
The POWER STATION is equipped with a changeover switch: if you are not listening to your audio system, you can set the switch to “bypass.” In this way, the connected equipment simply receives the voltage directly from the wall outlet, and the POWER STATION’s electronics are switched off, preventing unnecessary power consumption. When you plan to listen again, simply switch the switch back to “regenerate power,” at which point the POWER STATION switches itself back on, and the connected device is once again supplied with clean power.
Since the POWER STATION is cooled entirely without a fan, you will not be bothered by noise, and there is no massive dust accumulation in or around the POWER STATION.

An LED indicates the status of the POWER STATION: if the LED is blue, perfectly regenerated voltage is being supplied; if the LED turns red, the output is overloaded, which will affect the waveform and voltage, and the connected device will never be able to perform optimally.

If the LED is completely off, the POWER STATION is in “bypass” mode.

“Both LPs and (SA)CDs sound smoother, more pleasant, more musical, and more immersive without crucial characteristics such as detail, spatial imaging, dynamics, speed, or pressure being adversely affected. The only downside is that I sometimes forget to switch off the device at the end of a listening session, causing it to continue drawing power unnecessarily. I only find this out the next day when I want to turn the blue light back on before listening. Because I never forget to switch it on.”
